A California native, Croix earned a master’s degree in historic preservation from Ball State University and an undergraduate degree in psychology from California Baptist University. She is moving to Evansville from southern California, where she worked for Urbana Preservation & Planning, a consulting firm offering specialized urban planning, historic preservation, cultural resources, history and architectural history services.

“Evansville has experienced a historic preservation boom in the last several years with the rehabilitation of the Greyhound Station, the Owen Block and with significant reinvestment in downtown,” said Marsh Davis, president of Indiana Landmarks. “Candice is eager to partner with local communities to undertake even more successful projects throughout southwest Indiana.”

Indiana Landmarks’ Southwest Field Office serves six counties – Gibson, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh and Warrick – and works with individuals and groups to save historic places and offer restoration advice.

Croix will begin her new position on March 2.
