Abstract art focus of First Friday show at Indiana Landmarks Center

The Nov. 4 opening in Rapp Family Gallery includes works by Sylvia Gray, Von Biggs, and Margot Dahl.

Three abstract artists will be featured in a First Friday show at Indiana Landmarks’ Rapp Family Gallery. The November 4 opening includes works by Sylvia Gray, Von Biggs and Margot Dahl.

In addition to painting in oil on canvas, abstract expressionist Sylvia Gray paints on silk to produce one-of-a-kind scarves. Von Biggs creates canvases that combine hand dyed fabrics with polymers and resins to achieve depth, movement and luminescence. Margot Dahl’s oil paintings display abstract and partially abstract visions. She also makes beaded earrings which will be available at the show opening.

During First Fridays from 6 to 9 p.m., Indiana Landmarks offers refreshments and free tours of Indiana Landmarks Center, a restored and repurposed nineteenth-century Methodist church at the southern edge of the Old Northside Historic District.
