Indianapolis — Shoppers, people watchers, families, yard-sale junkies and street food aficionados won’t want to miss the annual Indiana Landmarks Treasure Hunt from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 15 at the Indiana Landmarks Center, Morris-Butler House and throughout the Old Northside.

There will be 60 booths of collectibles, antiques and architectural salvage, on the parking lot and lawn at Indiana Landmarks Center and Morris-Butler House, and antique booths indoors in Landmarks’ Cook Theater. Visitors also can view and vote for their favorite photograph in the Meaningful Places exhibition staged in cooperation with iMOCA (the Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art) in the center’s Rapp Family Gallery. Indiana Landmarks is at 1201 Central Avenue, with Morris-Butler House located immediately east at 1204 N. Park Ave.

Bargain hunters will want to check out the more than 40 yard sales throughout the Old Northside, including the All Saints Episcopal Church’s annual Big, Big, Really Big, Sidewalk Sale and St. Joseph neighborhood’s sidewalk sale on Central Ave. under the interstate.

At Morris-Butler House, there will be a Victorian tea room indoors, with food and tea by Tina’s Traditional Old English Tea Room, and an adults-only Grog ’n Grill serving Upland beer in the outdoor courtyard. Food trucks will line 12th street. Kids will find plenty of things to do, too, including puppeteers and an ice cream churning class. Even Fido will find special dog treats.

The event is free, but those who want first dibs on the antiques and collectibles can pay $5 for early entry from 8 to 9 a.m.
