Indiana Landmarks and the Old Northside collaborate to stage Treasure Hunt, an antiques market—indoors and outside at Indiana Landmarks Center—with more than 40 yard sales in the surrounding historic district. The event hosts food trucks and turns a courtyard of the Morris-Butler House into a biergarten and a parlor into Tina’s Traditional Tea Room.

This year, the annual event adds a juried show, co-sponsored by iMOCA, of 30 contemporary photographs by 21 artists. Treasure Hunt visitors can vote for their favorite photo in the Meaningful Places exhibition in Indiana Landmarks’ gallery, with cash prizes for the artists who garner the most votes.

At the annual antiques market on the parking lot and inside Indiana Landmarks Center and on the lawn at adjacent Morris-Butler House, you’ll find booths of antiques, collectibles and architectural salvage in a festival atmosphere, with roving entertainment and food to keep up your strength for hitting the yard sales throughout the Old Northside, including All Saints Episcopal Church’s annual Big, Big, Really Big Sidewalk Sale at 16th and Central.

Pick up a Treasure Hunt map at Indiana Landmarks Center that outlines the antiques vendors and food choices—food trucks on 12th Street (closed to traffic from Central to Park), outdoor Grog ‘n Grill, and Tina’s Traditional Tea Room in the Morris-Butler House parlors. The food vendors sell coffee and breakfast items in the morning and the lunch options begin at 10:30 a.m.

If you have kids, check out the children’s area offering crafts and architectural activities, a puppeteer, ice cream churning (and tasting!), and juggling instruction by Krembo K.

Treasure Hunt is free from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. However, you can pay $5 online or at the door for early-bird entry from 8-9 a.m. to get first pick from the antiques vendors on Indiana Landmarks’ campus. Register online for the early-bird entry at huntearlybird.eventbrite.com or just show up!
