Head-Turner Ready For Remodel
The Bedford Building consists of three store fronts, two floors and a basement on each, totaling approximately 6,648 square feet above grade. Built circa 1901, the commercial building is one of the most architecturally significant buildings in downtown Wabash. It is located across the street from Wabash City Hall on the east side of Wabash Street, which also serves as Indiana Highways 13 and 15, making it the busiest street in downtown Wabash. The building is in very poor repair and in need of a total remodel.
Grants are available to help defray the cost of the remodel. Wabash Marketplace is offering a $50,000 façade reimbursement grant for roof and façade (including windows and doors) work. Essentially, spend $100,000 and get $50,000 back. Another $100,000 grant for roof and façade work (that can be used toward your $50,000 match required for the grant described above) may be available.
