Silent Horror Film, Live Organ Scare Up a Classic Halloween

Sammy Terry to emcee event

Sammy Terry – a ghoul who emerged from his coffin each week to introduce late-night TV’s “Nightmare Theatre” on WTTV-4 – will emcee an evening of spooky fun on Friday, October 28, at Indiana Landmarks Center.

Sammy will introduce the 1920 silent movie classic Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Award-winning theater organist Mark Herman will provide live accompaniment for the film, screened in the Grand Hall. Preceding the film screening, he’ll perform a short selection of classic scary music on the organ.

A cash bar will be available, and door prizes will be given out throughout the evening. Dress up as Dr. Jekyll or Mr. or Ms. Hyde to compete for a cash prize for best costume. Sammy and his famous guillotine will be available for photos as well throughout the evening

Frightful: A Silent Halloween features special lighting effects that join the haunting organ accompaniment to make Indiana Landmarks’ Grand Hall an eerie Halloween eve destination.

Doors and cash bar open at 6:45 p.m., film screenings begin at 7:30 p.m. and the event ends at 10 p.m.

Tickets to Frightful: A Silent Halloween are $13 per person ($10 for Indiana Landmarks members), and are available online at silenthalloween2016.eventbrite.com, at the door, or by calling 317-639-4534.
