Greendale’s Ridge Avenue is home to many stately houses, built by distillery moguls and prosperous businessmen during the mid-late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Built as a private residence in 1863, the Edwin B. Dobell House at 305 Ridge Avenue has served multiple roles over the past 150 years, including apartments and, most recently, a restaurant. Today the Dobell House is a turnkey property ready for a new owner with creative vision for its reuse.

When we say turnkey, we really mean that this property is move-in ready. The first floor is home to a large dining room on one side of the entry hall, with a full bar on the other. Both are wired for audio/video and include a fire suppression system. Above, the second floor includes two large rooms mirroring those below. These could be additional dining rooms or special event rental space. The top floor is not completely finished, but could be used for storage, offices, or even an apartment.

Opening the Dobell House as a restaurant is just one option; the house could also be used as office space or returned to use as a single-family residence. Indiana Landmarks holds a protective covenant on the property requiring review of any exterior changes.
