Love Indy? Volunteer to Show It Off!

Matchmaking session connects volunteers with opportunities at Indiana Landmarks.

Would you like to know Indianapolis in a deeper way? Show it off to visitors? Help preserve and revitalize historic places? Indiana Landmarks might have a volunteer opportunity that would interest you.

The nonprofit organization is hosting a free recruitment event on Saturday, Feb. 18. The fast-paced event features quick conversations with volunteers and staff who¹ll communicate the wide range of available opportunities and give people a chance to express their interests.

Indiana Landmarks volunteers lead walking and motorcoach tours of Indianapolis and its historic places, usher and assist in special events on the organization¹s downtown campus, do research, and work in its office.

At the recruiting session, held from 10 a.m. to noon, visitors will hear about the training and benefits Indiana Landmarks provides to volunteers.

Refreshments will be served at the event, held at Indiana Landmarks Center, 1201 Central Avenue in Indianapolis. The center occupies a restored nineteenth-century church repurposed as a cultural center with theaters and reception halls.

Indiana Landmarks saves vintage buildings, revitalizes neighborhoods and small towns, and reconnects people and communities to their heritage through historic places. For more information on volunteering, call 317-822-7950 or register online for the recruitment event at recruitingvolunteers2017.eventbrite.com.
