Photography Exhibition at Indiana Landmarks for April First Friday

Experience “a day in the life” through photography at Indiana Landmarks’ First Friday show on April 6. The group show will focus on diverse interpretations of everyday life and showcase the work of many local artists whose photography styles range from visual journalism to surrealism.

“The show’s subtitle ‘A Day in the Life//Glass*Sticks’ uses photographer’s slang for lenses and tripods. In addition to displaying their art, the photographers will show the equipment they used and describe how their equipment and approaches have evolved,” says Amy Ward, the curator and facilitator.

The artists represented in the show include Anthony Armstrong, Courtney Brooks, Ellie Sophia Brown, Damon Butler, Chase Cannon, Cameron Dawson, Glory-June Greiff, Tomas Howie, Wendell Lowe, Josh Marks, Christine Merchent, Ben Murray, Shaun Niles, Corey Smith, Jon Smith, Darrell Staggs and Waterpop Studio.

Complimentary snacks and beverages will be available, and visitors can also tour Indiana Landmarks Center at 1201 Central Avenue in Indianapolis. Built as a Methodist church in the nineteenth century, the restored and adapted structure holds theaters and a reception hall in addition to the gallery and Indiana Landmarks’ headquarters.
