Fine and Underground Art Theme of June 1 Art Show

At Indiana Landmarks’ Rapp Family Gallery, the June First Friday art show presents “Off the Record: The Melody of Fine and Underground Art.” The group show displays the work of 28 artists inspired by punk aesthetics, rock music, pop culture, and political topics.

Featured artists include R.A Buys, Chase Cannon, Brinton Farrand, Wendi Hall, Bryan Michael Hartnett, Gary Lynn, Ellen Starr Lyon, Michael “Kwazar” Martin, Kasey May, Jeremy Noelker, Pamela M. O’Brien, Kristy Quinn, Matthew Sheek, David Slivka, Amy Ward, and Paula Wright, with guest artists Helen Carroll, Anindo Chatterjee, Christina Clark, Candice Conner, Kennedy Conner, Kathy Cunningham, Kory Easterday, Shannon Galyan, Timmy Kehoe, Trinity Moffett, Natalie Smith and Sarah Wright.

Complimentary snacks and beverages will be available during the free First Friday opening on June 1, 6-9 p.m., when you can also tour Indiana Landmarks Center at 1201 Central Avenue in Indianapolis. Built as a Methodist church in the nineteenth century, the restored and adapted structure holds theaters and a reception hall in addition to the gallery and Indiana Landmarks’ headquarters.
