Jam-Packed First Friday Show Features Work by 57 Artists

FLAVA FRESH, an annual juried exhibition series featuring newly-discovered, underrepresented, emerging and early-career visual artists, presents a First Friday show on September 1 at Indiana Landmarks Center’s Rapp Family Gallery.

The exhibition, FLAVA FRESH 14!, features works in diverse media by 57 artists, including Amanda Aunspach, Taeven Antoinette Barnes, Tasha Beckwith, Carolyn Irene Bell (1940 – 2016) represented by Michele Winston, Chrystopher Burns, Lydia Burris, R. A.  Buys, DeAnna Cannon, Linda Cannon, Judy Chandler,  Saadia Cooksey, Hector Rene Del Campo, Amanda Doty, Shunae Drake (AVALA),  Gary Dyer, Mirvia Sol Eckert, Matthew Eugene, Linda Evans, Michael Evans, Gary Gee, Sherri Gruber, Carl Hazelwood, Joy Hernandez, Andrea Jandernoa, Rodney Jones, Shannon Jones, Nancy L. Kruse, Gonj’ya LeFaye, Laura Levine, Ann D. Luther, Sharon Marcano, Lj McCaleb-Doucoure, Nina McCoy, Jerome Neal, Finley Norris, Rae Parker, Djibril Ouattara, Jeana Ouattara, Anthony Radford, Omar Rashan, Rebecca Robinson, Dana Rae Roudebush, Goddess Sanura, Mechi Shakur, Judie L. Complimentary snacks and beverages will be available during the First Friday opening, 6-9 p.m., when you can also tour Indiana Landmarks Center, 1201 Central Avenue. Built as a Methodist church in the nineteenth century, the restored and adapted structure holds theaters and a reception hall in addition to the gallery and Indiana Landmarks’ headquarters.
