Historic Downtown Aurora Tour

Just in time for the city’s bicentennial, a Historic Aurora Downtown Tour showcases landmarks in the Ohio River town.

Saturday, October 19, 2019

10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Tour headquarters: Aurora City Building, 235 Main Street, Aurora

As Aurora celebrates its bicentennial in 2019, Indiana Landmarks, Main Street Aurora, and Dearborn County Historical Society offer the opportunity to explore historic landmarks across the city, including private homes, a 1850 church, a railroad depot, a commercial building, and even a local brewery housed in a warehouse with brewing history.

Aurora’s National Register-listed historic district spans 25 blocks of nineteenth- and twentieth-century buildings. Hit hard by the recession, the city’s Second Street has seen a wealth of private and public investment in recent years, and the downtown tour will showcase its revitalization. Make a day of it! See stunning nineteenth-century architecture, do some vintage and antique shopping, have lunch, and finish the day with a locally brewed beer.
