About the Home
The Cypress Log Cabin Home is a beautifully preserved example of early 20th-century architecture, crafted entirely from cypress logs. As you step inside, you’ll be greeted by the warm, inviting ambiance of the living space, featuring exposed log walls, a cozy stone fireplace, and carefully curated furnishings. The original exterior porch has been transformed into an incredible glass sitting room, with epic Lake Michigan views. This part of the home features the original cabin bedroom, used by the World’s Fair caretakers, with two built-in twin beds. The cabin’s original kitchen has been converted to a full bathroom just outside the bedroom.
Step through the hall to the log cabin addition to find a gorgeous, long galley kitchen, dining room, full bathroom with steam shower, and two more bedrooms: The primary bedroom, featuring a king bed and a twin daybed & twin trundle with an ensuite full bathroom with jetted soaking tub (no shower). The third bedroom features two queen beds with a private screened in porch.
Downstairs, a world of entertainment awaits. With a full wet bar, wine cellar, living room with vintage pinball and skeeball machines, full bathroom with walk-in shower, and a movie theater, you’ll have plenty to do on rainy days with the family. The movie theater also offers a hidden queen bed for additional optional sleeping space. This home sleeps a maximum of 12 guests.

Though the garage is not accessible to guests, parking for up to 6 cars is provided at the home. The historic fireplace is beautiful, but not operational. Propane gas is provided for the firepit outside. Complimentary wi-fi is provided. Cell service in the area may or may not work strongly, depending on your carrier. A National Park visitor’s pass is required when exploring the National Park outside the property lines of the home, and can be purchased through our office, or the National Park app.
