Do you love all things Mid-Century in Indiana?

Indiana Modern announces Instagram photo contest.

Indiana Modern, an affinity group of Indiana Landmarks, aims to promote and preserve significant structures and landscapes built from roughly the mid-1930s through the mid-1970s. The group announced a contest on Instagram, #INModernLove, starting Aug. 19 and running through Oct. 1, that challenges people to post their best images of Indiana mid-century structures and landscapes.

A panel of judges appointed by Indiana Modern will select three winners. The first-prize winner will receive $100, second prize $50, and third prize $25. The top place winner gets a one-year membership in Indiana Landmarks and the Indiana Modern affinity group.

To enter the contest, follow @indiana_modern on Instagram and, after noon Eastern time on August 19, post a photo with a brief description on Instagram of an Indiana Mid-Century Modern structure or landscape and tag #IndianaModern and #INModernLove.

“We hope the contest will encourage people to explore modern architecture and learn more about modern heritage around the state,” says Mark Dollase, Indiana Landmarks’ Vice President of Preservation Services, who helped start Indiana Modern. “Plus, it’s a fun way to connect with other fans of Modernism,” he adds.

Contestants must live in Indiana and be at least 18 years old to enter, and all entries must be posted from personal public Instagram accounts.

Go to the Indiana Modern page at www.indianalandmarks.org/indiana-modern/ to download the contest rules. Winners will be contacted via direct message on Instagram and announced via posts on the @indiana_modern Instagram account on Oct. 7, 2019.
